How to create and use a Google AdWords account

These advertisements are short. When an internet user searches Google search engine for a keyword, ads relevant to the keyword are shown on the results page just above the results or on the right side of the results page.

How to create and use an AdWords account?

The AdWords account set up process involves 4 steps as explained below.
1. Target Customers: Allows you to choose countries where you wish your ads to appear.
2. Create Ad: You need to put headline, description, display and destination URLs.
3. Set pricing: Allows you to choose the currency, set your cost per click (CPC) and your daily budget. No minimum budget is required.
4. Sign up: Provide your email address and a password.

You need to login and activate the ads. You also need to submit your billing information.

How to use AdWords effectively?

While setting up the account please bear the following guidelines in mind. To use AdWords effectively, you need a keywords/phrases list. These core targeted keywords or phrases could let your customers to find your goods or the services you offer.

Note down comprehensive top targeted search keywords that describes your good or service. Once this is done, develop and create an advertisement which should be sufficient enough to drive visitors to visit your site. Prepare the advertisement with a title line of maximum 25 characters and description with 2 lines of up to 35 characters each. The URL is also limited to 35 characters. The title and description are the main key factors in driving the visitors to your site. So make sure to write powerful sentences to entice the users to click on the advertisement to read the full details of your product or service.

The description must contain the search keyword or phrase so that the effectiveness is increased and when a visitor sees the advertisement, he should be compelled to click on that ad. Consider capitalise at least one major keyword in your description. For example, the “FREE” keyword draws attention extensively. You can include other keywords within the body of your advertisement.

Your advertisement must convince the potential customer that if they click on the advertisement, they would get the benefits described in your advertisement. The description must have factors that clearly add value to the customer above and beyond your competition and would lead to higher click throughs.
Please make sure to create a separate advertisement for each main keyword or keyword phrase. You can create a number of different advertisements for each main keyword or key phrase. If you need to be more professional, try searching the Google with the keyword or phrase you have and look out for the results to get an idea how the advertisements are created and get displayed.

Here is the final and most important part in your advertisement campaign of landing your potential customer to most relevant portion of your site.

Always link to the area of your site that is most relevant to your search keyword or phrase. You must link to a page that contains the exact information, product or service that your potential customers were searching for in Google search engine. In other words, do not just link to the home page but to the exact page within your site that describes the service or product you are offering and has been shown in the advertisement.

If you wish to maximize your sales, then you must evaluate each keyword and link it to the most relevant area of your web site where the potential customers are to be directed. Keep a proper record of the landing pages and the keywords. This would definitely help you in converting the visitors to your customers. This will also save fortunes of your expenses as Google will charge you for each click when a visitor clicks on the link even if the customers leave in between the loading of your page for some technical reasons. Make sure that yoursite is functioning well and has not broken links. If this is the case of broken links and your advertisements are active, Google will bill you for the clicks that leads to broken links. So make sure to bid for minimum price to reduce the expenses for dead links.

Tips for AdWords campaigns:

Once you have activated the AdWords account by paying $5.00 which is the minimum deposit, you have the following bidding options
• Decide the maximum amount you wish to pay for per click per day. The maximum cost-per-click (CPC) is from US$0.05 - US$50. You can set a daily budget as low as 5 cents USD or as high as you want. But when your maximum budget limit for that is achieved, Google suspends your account until next day.
• Monitor your advertisements to make sure you make necessary changes for the next advertisement based on the performance of current advertisement campaigns.
• Keep tracking of the clicks using a unique tracking URL for each advertisement so that you can identify which ads and keywords converted the most clicks to sales at Google AdWords system.

 To use tracking  get your traffic data from your Web server logs or from third party tracking software..

The above guidelines regarding Google AdWords campaign can drive thousands of potential customers to your web site or affiliate program and generate instant sales.
